Cats
Our store is home to four cats, who are very important members of our Pierce Milling family.
Our cats can often be found snoozing in their heated beds in our office or patrolling the store looking for attention.

Fred
Fred is our friendly feline ambassador, always eager to greet customers and, occasionally, jump on their shoulders and ride around the store. Fred came to us as a stray kitten in 2013 and has been with us ever since. You’ll most likely find Fred sleeping in a bed in the office, sitting at the checkout counter, or cruising the aisles looking for friends.

Whitey
Whitey is our shy guy. With us since 2019 when he showed up as a young stray, he has yet to let us pet him and we think that’s just fine. He loves the other cats, loves to keep an eye on things going on in the store, and loves to steal stuffed animals from our toy section. You’re most likely to spot him hiding out on a store shelf, sleeping in his little house in the center aisle, or napping in an inconspicuous spot in the office. If you do encounter him in the store, please respect his space and look but don’t touch.

Tippy
Tippy is our three-legged queen. She showed up as a stray in the spring of 2021 with a freshly removed foot. We’re not sure exactly what happened, but she found us in the nick of time. We were able to get her the medical attention she needed as well as a safe place to recover (and recover she did!). These days, she’s the fastest little tripod around, curious and capable of doing almost everything a four-legged cat can. You’re most likely to find her sleeping in a chair or on a computer in the office or at the top of the steps in the upper portion of our store. Tippy is particularly fond of chin scratches since she can’t reach without her foot. If you see her, give her a scratch!

Marsha
Marsha showed up as a stray in November of 2023. First appearing in the warehouse, she quickly befriended our office staff and then immediately invited herself inside the store. Marsh LOVES attention and will often park herself on the checkout counter and insist customers pet her, whether they want to or not. When she’s not demanding attention, she can be spotted exploring the warehouse, climbing on the upper shelves in the store, or sleeping in a bed in the office. She is our only resident mouser and will often bring her prize kills to the store door (eek!).
